ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) is a private college in Rohini, New Delhi. The college is recognized by Bar Council of India and was established in the year 1993. It is in affiliation to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University approved by AICTE and Accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate education in the fields of Management and Information Technology. ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelors of Arts Economics BA Eco. (H) is 3 years (6 semesters) undergraduate programme which lays strong foundation in understanding various micro and macro aspects of Economics by imparting sufficient knowledge in quantitative technique and sharpens analytical skills for practical research.

During the course students cover various subjects such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Statistics, History of Economics, Political Economy, Financial Systems, Economy and Society, Development of Economics in India, Foreign Economics Theory, Financial Markets, Development Theory and much more.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The BA Eco. (H) course is divided into 3 years and further divided into 6 semesters. An academic calendar consists of 2 semesters of working duration of about 21 weeks and each paper consists of theory as well as practical subjects.

OBJECTIVE

FACULTY AND DEPARTMENT

It also enables the students to get admission in Master Degree in Economics and Management programmes of National and International reputes such as IIMs, Delhi School of Economics, London School of Economics and Politics.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates with an aggregate* of 50% marks in 10+2 level examination compulsory study at 10+2 level from a recognized State and Central Government Board with Mathematics and English compulsory subjects at 10+2 level.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The candidates must apply through CUET for the admission to any of the courses offered by JIMS.
The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
The candidates who qualify CUET are only eligible for the admission in the college.

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
