ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelors of Computer Application (BCA) is 3 years (6 semesters) undergraduate programme which is aimed to inculcate in-depth knowledge in Technical Education and understanding fundamental concepts of Computers, Information Technology and its applications in different domains.

During the course students cover various subjects such as Introduction to Computer and IT, Technical Communication, Digital Electronics, Principles of Management, Database Management system, Object-Oriented Programming through C++, JAVA, PHP, Oracle, Computer Architecture, Data Structure, Web Technologies etc.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The BCA course is divided into 3 years and further divided into 6 semesters. An academic calendar consists of 2 semesters of working duration of about 21 weeks and each paper consists of theory as well as practical subjects.

The vision of this course is to provide higher academic learning to excel in Management and Technical Education, Research and Consultancy with a holistic concern for the quality of life, society, environment and ethics.

OBJECTIVE

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A candidate eligible for admission to the 3-year BCA undergraduate degree course must be Passed in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* with pass in English (core or elective or functional). Mathematics or Computer Science / or any other subject related to Computer Science.
The candidates must have qualified CUET

ADMISSION PROCESS

The candidates must apply through CUET for the admission to any of the courses offered by JIMS.
The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
The candidates who qualify CUET are only eligible for the admission in the college.

ABOUT THE PLACEMENT CELL

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
