Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advanced technology (KIHEAT) is a private college in Mohan Garden, New Delhi set-up by Sankalpa Educational Welfare and Charitable Society (Regd.). The college is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and was established in the year 2001. It is affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University which is approved by AICTE and Accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. This institute offers undergraduate education in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication BA (JMC), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Commerce B.Com (H) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelors of Education (B.Ed.) is 2 years (4 semesters) undergraduate programme which is the most preferred course among the students who are interested in taking teaching as a profession.

During the course the subjects covered by the students are Childhood and Growing Up, Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education, Understanding Disciplines and Subjects, School Organisation and Management, Learning and Teaching, Drama and art in Education, Peace Education, Work Education, School Leadership etc.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The B.Ed. course is divided into 2 years and further divided into 4 semesters. An academic calendar consists of 2 semesters of Theory course as well as Practical course and total credits for B.Ed. programme is 92, out of which 88 credits are required for qualifying the exams.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A candidate eligible for admission to the B.Ed. course must have passed the Intermediate Examination (10+2) and Undergraduate Level in any stream (Arts, Science or Commerce).
The aggregate of 50-55% marks must be taken as an eligibility criterion at Undergraduate Level to admission in B.Ed. course.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The candidates must apply through GGSIPU CET for the admission to B.Ed. course offered by KIHEAT.
The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
The candidates who qualify CET (Common Entrance Test) are only eligible for the admission in the college.

After the IPU CET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off is different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidates vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by the institute . The appearance in IPU CET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
