Dwarka's Trinity Institute of  Professional  Studies (TIPS) is a renowned educational institution situated only a short distance from Dwarka's Sector 10 Metro Station (opposite pillar no. 1160). BACHELOR OF ARTS IN JOURNALISM & MASS COMM. (B.A JMC)

The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BAJMC) programme at Trinity Institute of Professional Studies (TIPS) is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to instil reporting and communication skills in students, allowing them to prove their worth in the media industry.It's a broad and diverse course that aims to educate students about the media industry, familiarise them with all facets of the field, and train them to work as responsible professionals. TIPS is one of the best BAJMC colleges in Delhi NCR since the programme is structured to cover both theoretical and practical subjects and provide students with hands-on experience.Our students have been positioned in leading print and electronic media companies over the years as a result of their well-developed expertise and professional experience. CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:

Pass 12th Class (10+2) CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate and English (core, elective, or functional) as a subject.

Students Intake Admissions

The first and second shifts each have a total of 60 students.

Quotas for Director Intakes

A applicant must meet the above-mentioned eligibility requirements and receive a CET-GGSIPU Rank. The Institute provides management quota entry for 10% of seats, which is determined by the merit of the qualifying examination and the CET-GGSIPU Rating.

 

 

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The course is split into two semesters for each academic session (August-December & January-May). Every semester, examinations and evaluations are conducted in accordance with the University's schedule. Each paper is worth 100 points.

Written tests, tasks, interviews, participation, and other forms of internal testing account for 25% of overall scores.

GGSIP University conducts external evaluation at the end of each term, which accounts for 75% of the cumulative marks.

Passing criteria: A student must receive a minimum of 40% in each subject to pass (Internal and External Assessment combined together)

PEOS (PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES)

The BA(JMC) curriculum at Trinity Institute of Professional Studies seeks to provide students with a comprehensive and all-round education that will train them to be detailed practitioners in the area of journalism and mass communication. The BA(JMC) curriculum is structured so that graduates will be able to:

PEO1: Explain ethical practise and extend professional ethics expertise gained in the broadcast industry.

PEO2: will do media analysis and write a study using research techniques in pre-testing/evaluation of media content. They should also show that they have the ability to successfully read and compose for a variety of platforms.

PEO3: can capture aesthetically rich images, create feature stories, design different ways of graphic and visual communication, and create formats to show proficiency of technological skills learned during their course time.

PEO4: Would be able to compose for a range of online outlets and visual environments.

PEO5: A strategic approach allows students to work under pressure and successfully tackle emergencies whilst employed in the ever-demanding media sector.

PEO6: They have a comprehensive understanding of all media outlets, which helps them to function in a number of capacities and provides them with an understanding of what is demanded of them by industry.

PEO7: Will be able to perform an identity audit, monitor media communication, and develop a crisis communication strategy.

PEO8: Allows them to successfully use search engines, grasp people's nerves, observe their peers, and go on in line with it.

PEO9: Empower students to understand the country's sociopolitical and economic system, enabling them to connect with the media, report on human interest stories, and introduce the voices of the voiceless to the government.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A candidate eligible for admission to the 3-year BJMC undergraduate degree course must be Passed in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* and must also have passed English (core or elective or functional) as a subject.

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • The candidates must apply through CUET for the admission to any of the courses offered by TIPS Dwarka
  • The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
  • The candidates who qualify CUET are only eligible for the admission in the college.

COLLEGE RATING

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
