ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

In 2013, the Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology founded the FIMT- School of Commerce. B. Com (H) is a three-year bachelor's degree programme with six semesters. Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University's syllabus and assessment framework is followed. The faculty of the Department of Commerce is exceptionally educated and experienced. Case studies, role plays, group discussions, and presentations are all included throughout the daily course of research. Tutorial courses are held on a regular basis to address all aspects of the students' review. The commerce division hosts guest speakers, industrial visits, soft-skills learning workshops, and other events to help students advance their careers.

DEGREE DEFINITION

Bachelor in Commerce (H) is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to provide students with a variety of management skills while still developing proficiency in a particular field. The Bachelor of Commerce is a career-oriented degree that covers many facets of the business world. Graduates in General Commerce programmes are prepared for a variety of industry careers. The B. Com (H) programme is intended to provide students with a broad variety of management skills while still developing expertise in a specific field.

 

OBTAINED SKILLS

Bachelor in Commerce (Hons) is an undergraduate course that covers topics such as accounting principles, economic philosophy, micro and macroeconomics, money and financial processes, understanding of industry, trade, and the policies that govern it, and so on. Simply put, a B.Com. (Hons) degree programme focuses on the formal study of topics of accounting, business studies, statistics, economics, mathematics, finance, banking, law, taxation, marketing, and management studies. The course will last three years and the syllabus will be split into journals. It's a career-oriented programme that leads to a slew of new work opportunities after it's completed.

 

AN EXTENSIVE EDUCATION PLAN

One of the most common postgraduate degrees is the Master of Business Administration. MBA services attract students from a variety of backgrounds who choose to remain active in a crowded labour market.

 

 

 

SKILLS OBTAINED

After completing a B.Com. (Hons) degree programme, students may pursue further education (M.Com., MBA, etc.) or pursue a career in accounting, finance, auditing, or accountancy in both the public and private sectors. Holders with a B. Com. (Hons) degree are also eligible for a variety of positions in banks and other financial institutions. Through accountant to investment banker, wealth manager to personal finance adviser, a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce trains a candidate for a wide range of occupations involving the flow of money. Students who earn a B.Com. (Hons) degree will choose careers such as Chartered Accountancy and Company Secretaryship.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A candidate eligible for admission to the 3-year B.Com. (H) undergraduate degree course must have
    50% in aggregate in 10+2 examination / Senior School Certificate Examination of C.B.S.E. as minimum marks for admission to B.Com with pass in five subjects (One language and four elective subjects) or an examination recognized as equivalent to that. (i) Pre-University Examination (Two years after ten years of schooling) of an Indian school / college.                              OR
    Intermediate Examination of an Indian University / Board or an Examination recognized as equivalent to that (Pass in five written subjects) (ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi (Pass in five written subjects). (iii) Examination of a foreign University / Board which is recognized as equivalent to 10+2 CBSE examination/or Indian University.

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • The candidates must apply through  CUET  for the admission to any of the courses offered by FIMT
  • The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
  • The candidates who qualify CUET are only eligible for the admission in the college.

COLLEGE RATING

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
