The HMR Institute of Technology and Management was established in 2002. It takes up 5 acres of property on a sprawling lush green campus. HMRITM exists to nurture the Technical Spirit – founded in 2002 to provide excellent facilities for Engineering and Technology students, the HMR Institute of Technology and Management has already established itself as one of the most prestigious institutes in the country. In today's increasingly competitive world, the Institute recognises the importance of developing a new generation of cerebral staff. The acronym HMR stands for Late Sh. Hiralal, Late Smt. Mohan Devi, and Late Smt. Rita Gupta, the institution's founders. The Department of ECE was founded in 2003 with a 120-student intake. From 2012, the number of students accepted was raised to 180. A separate block has been set aside to help the department develop into a centre of excellence. Faculty in the ECE Department have extensive teaching and research experience, and they are leading students on the road of excellence. The bulk of the faculty members of the ECE department have a Ph.D. or are considering a Ph.D. The department's faculty are unwaveringly dedicated to the improvement of students and the department's progress. Collaboration with professors from other backgrounds is promoted both within and beyond the institute. Students created various projects based on Project Based Learning and presented them at a Tech Expo held at the college and university level. All of the previous years' alumnae are employed by reputable companies such as INFOSYS, HCL Technologies, HP, Citrix, and others. In India and abroad, some of them are seeking M.Tech, MBA, and MS degrees. The Department has set up laboratories that are well-equipped.

APPLICATION EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS):

These are general statements that define the career and personal milestones that the programme is training graduates to attain within three to five years of graduation.

PEO1: To provide a positive learning atmosphere for higher education, science, and employability in a variety of fields of electronics and communication engineering.

PEO2: Recognize, synthesise, and apply fundamental science and mathematics information to solve real-world Electronics and Communication Engineering problems.

PEO3: Able to instil strong leadership skills, teamwork, ethics, and a sense of duty in businesses and research organisations for a fruitful career.

PEO4: Graduating students will be capable of becoming entrepreneurs, as they will be armed with the skills and competencies needed to handle individuals, businesses, and companies.

 

RESULTS OF THE PROGRAM (POS):

PO1. Technical skills: Solve complicated engineering challenges using knowledge of mathematics, physics, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialty.

PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review literature, and interpret dynamic engineering problems using first principles in mathematics and natural science to draw substantiated conclusions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR B. TECH

Pass 12th Class in CBSE's 10+2 pattern or similar with a minimum of 55 percent combined in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics if the candidate has passed each subject separately. In addition, the candidate must have passed the qualifying test for English as a subject of study (core, elective, or functional).

CRITERIA FOR B. TECH ADMISSIONS

All candidates must take the National Testing Agency's Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main Paper 1 to be considered (NTA). The University will not hold its own CET for admissions, instead relying on the JEE Main Paper 1 merit for admissions. Admissions would be given based on merit / rank in the JEE.

After the registration , all india rank is given to all candidates based on JEE mains score. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute.
