GGSIPU Online Counseling Process for Admissions 2025

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) conducts online centralized counseling for admission to various programs based on merit obtained through National Level Tests (NLT) or the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University. The entire admission process comprises multiple rounds of counseling, including a special Spot Round for unfilled seats.

Below is a detailed explanation of the admission counseling process:


Round 1: Initial Counseling Process

  1. Registration & Fee Payment
    Candidates must register online, submit their application form, and pay the required application fee.

  2. Basis of Admission

    • For most programs, admission is based on NLT scores.

    • For some programs, GGSIPU will conduct its own CET.

  3. Enrollment for Online Counseling
    Eligible candidates must enroll for centralized online counseling based on their CET/NLT score.

  4. Choice Filling
    Candidates must fill in their choices/preferences for courses and institutions.

  5. Result Declaration
    The result of Round 1 is declared online.

  6. Document Verification
    Allotted candidates undergo online document verification.

  7. Part Academic Fee Submission
    Candidates allotted a seat must pay the part academic fee to confirm the allotment. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from further counseling.

  8. Allotment Letter
    After fee submission, candidates can download their allotment letter.

  9. Willingness Submission
    Candidates need to submit their willingness (Freeze or Float) for further rounds.

  10. Online Withdrawal
    Candidates not willing to continue can opt for online withdrawal.


Round 2: Second Counseling Round

  1. Enrollment for Round 2
    Candidates can modify, delete, or add choices/preferences.

  2. Result Declaration
    The result of Round 2 is declared.

  3. Online Document Verification
    Allotted candidates undergo online document verification.

  4. Part Academic Fee Submission
    Candidates must submit the part academic fee if they haven't already. This is mandatory to continue in further rounds.

  5. Allotment Letter Printing
    Candidates can print their allotment letter upon successful fee submission.

  6. Willingness Submission
    Candidates must declare their willingness (Freeze or Float).

  7. Online Withdrawal Option
    Candidates may withdraw from counseling online, if desired.

  8. Eligibility for Spot Round
    Candidates are eligible to participate in the Spot Round as fresh candidates.


Round 3 / Sliding Round

  1. Enrollment for Modifications
    Candidates may add, delete, or modify their choices/preferences.

  2. Category-wise Seat Allotment
    Seats are allotted as per categories such as SC/ST/OBC/Defence/PwD, etc.

  3. Conversion of Reserved Seats
    Unfilled reserved category seats may be converted to general category after exhausting the respective list.

  4. Result Declaration
    Results for the sliding round are announced.

  5. Online Document Verification
    Allotted candidates are required to complete online document verification.

  6. Part Academic Fee Payment
    New allottees must pay the part academic fee; upgraded candidates must pay any applicable upgrade charges.

  7. Allotment Letter Download
    Candidates can download their allotment letter.

  8. Online Withdrawal (Optional)
    Candidates can withdraw if they no longer wish to proceed.

  9. Eligibility for Spot Round
    All candidates remain eligible for the Spot Round as fresh participants.


Spot Round (Online)

For Seats Remaining Vacant Without Any Reservation or Region

  1. Mandatory Registration
    All candidates, regardless of earlier admission status, must register afresh to participate in the Spot Round.

  2. Choice Filling
    Candidates fill choices/preferences online.

  3. Spot Round Result Declaration
    The result is declared after processing the Spot Round.

  4. Online Document Verification
    Allotted candidates are required to verify their documents online.

  5. Part Academic Fee Submission
    Candidates must pay the fee to confirm the seat. Failure to pay will result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

  6. Allotment Letter Printing
    Candidates can print their allotment letter post fee payment.

  7. Online Withdrawal Option
    An option to withdraw online is available for candidates.

  8. Reporting to the Allotted Institute
    Final reporting at the allotted college/institute is mandatory for eligibility verification and payment of the remaining academic fee. Failure to report within the stipulated time will lead to seat cancellation.
