Two popular options are the IPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test) and the JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main). Although both exams offer pathways to engineering programs, they differ significantly in terms of structure, difficulty level, competition, and opportunities.

1. Exam Purpose and Scope

  • JEE Main:
    JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is also the qualifying exam for appearing in JEE Advanced for admission to IITs.

  • IPU CET:
    IPU CET was earlier conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for admissions to its various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Tech. However, for B.Tech (except Biotechnology), IPU now primarily accepts JEE Main scores for admission.
