The other name for Electronics and communication engineering is Electronics Engineering. This field of engineering make use of active electrical gadgets and nonlinear electrical gadgets. These gadgets could be either transistors or either diodes. By using these components, leads to the creation of electric circuits. Also, integrated circuits get created.
Electronics and Communication Engineering has two sections. It consists of study of electronics engineering and along with communication engineering. The main aim of this course is to facilitate good communication by the help of understanding of electronics.

Scope of ECE
• One can become as an Electronics Engineer. Currently, there is a rise in electronics industry as new emerging firms are trying to satisfy the demands of market.
• Next is the Electronics and Communication Engineer. ECE students get a chance to work in networking and broadcasting areas. There main work is to ensure continuous working of networks.
• Next is Electronics Design and Development Engineer. This is also, a good career choice for ECE graduates. This is best for those who want to experience the fields dazzle.
• Next is Desktop Support Engineer. The demand for desktop support engineer is there in both IT and non-IT companies. This means, there are unlimited jobs available in this position for ECE graduates.
• Next is System Control Engineer. The work of a system control engineer is to create and test systems. Over here ECE graduates get enrolled as System Control Managers, Technical Supervisors, etc.
Motto behind letting readers know the scope of Electronics and Communication Engineering before, was just to emphasize that the GTBIT college works on students for developing skills that are required for a particular job.

Course
Students basic concepts will be cleared in the first half of the course like they will learn about fundamental concepts of engineering. Their concepts of physics, chemistry and mathematics would be polished up. In the next half they will go through core learning. They will learn about communication deeply. They will understand the design and learn about electronic circuits, control system, etc. Also, there would be learning of fundamentals of electronics engineering.

Areas of Significance:
• Electronics and Communication Engineering at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology is facilitated with 15 labs. These labs are fully equipped with microprocessors, mobile communication, etc.
• We provide a free summer in-house training to 2nd and 3rd year students. Electronics and communication engineering is the only department to hold this training for 2 weeks period.
• We teach PCB designing to first year students. This helps them to learn more efficiently and quickly as it involves the practical application of concepts.
• We want to facilitate our students in the best possible ways. Periodically guest lectures are being arranged for them. Various activities are arranged for them every year.
• Professional Institutes like IEEE, ISTE and IETE creates opportunities for students to become part of them as becoming members. We encourage and guide our students to try to become the member of such bodies.
• We just want our students to acquire sound knowledge of profession so that they could lead various organizations with ease.

Projects
Electronics and communication engineering at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology serves the opportunity to do cool and fun projects. This will make studying fun and exciting to students.
• Home cybernetics with voice control using internet of things is in air these days. This is done using google assistant and Raspberry Pi. To add on newness, to make project more creative one could make automation system of smart home to support different languages like Hindi, Marathi, etc.
• PC based GPS receiver is also a cool project to do. This project is more connective to society. It is best to put in use in remote areas. Since it comes in use over when there is no wireless network available neither internet is available. This lets user find the exact location of place with standard time over their screen. This lets user not to lose track of its way.
• UV Sanitation Robot. This is the best alternative to sanitizing with human efforts. The sanitizing by individuals specially in delicate areas like hospitals is dangerous as it may lead to further spread of harmful microorganisms. This robot uses UV rays to kill microorganisms. This robot has an additional cool feature, as it provides live video streaming.

ELIGIBILITY

A candidate eligible for admission to the 4-year B. Tech degree course must have passed the Intermediate Examination (10+2) with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in aggregate.
A candidate must have passed English as a core/elective/functional subject in CBSE or any other equivalent examination.
A candidate should also appear in JEE to become eligible for the B. Tech course in the college.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The candidates must apply through IPU CET or JEE Entrance Exam for the admission to any of the courses offered by GTBIT
The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
The candidates who qualify IPU CET or JEE Exam are only eligible for the admission in the college.

COLLEGE RATING

After the registration , all india rank is given to all candidates based on JEE mains score. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute .
