Choice Filling is mandatory for seat allotment and anyone who fails to fill in the choices, or preferences, will not be considered for online seat allotment. After registration, during the period of choice filling, each candidate has to fill in his choices of institute and course, from the list of all plausible amalgamation of institute and courses, in order of their preference. Once the choice filling period ends, seat allotment is carried out based on the preferences filled in by the candidates.
Over the years, it has been noticed that candidates fill only a few numbers of preferences, which sometimes leads to non-allotment of the seat. Therefore, every candidate should fill in the maximum number of preferences because it increases the possibility of being allotted a seat. Though, after the first round of seat allotment, candidates are provided with an opportunity to make any changes in their preferences for facilitating further rounds of counseling. Candidates can also save the form, once they are done filling in their preferences, and taking out a print-out for any future references.
