THE COURSE'S GOAL

BCA imparts knowledge and expertise in the use of computers and their applications. The program's main goal is to provide access to computer classes for students who have completed 10+2 and are interested in pursuing computing as a profession.

EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM

Faculty at SEG School of Management were carefully selected to reflect the diversity of the curriculum. Students have plenty of computing time in the well-equipped computer laboratories to do realistic work. The BCA programme at ESG SOM is distinguished by its state-of-the-art physical architecture, seasoned faculty drawn from academia and business, and a concentration on live programmes, technological skills, engineering tasks and projects, languages and programming, among other things. We provide you with a forum to discover infinite possibilities for further study.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

The minimum time needed to complete the curriculum is three years (6 semesters). The class is broken down into six semesters. A semester is the division of an academic year into two halves. According to the above breakdown, each of the two semesters will last about 21 weeks.

MODULES OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Our experiential learning modules last two months each semester and provide students with hands-on experience applying classroom learning to real-world issues. These modules span four key industry domains: marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, and human resources. Students operate in four-person groups in each module, with a faculty member acting as the group's instructor. Each party must finish the assigned business assignment and deliver a report to their mentors. After that, each group must make a presentation to the whole faculty and student body of the college about their experience and key takeaways from each module. The highest performing category is recognised based on the submitted report and presentation.

AFFILIATION & APPROVAL

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is affiliated with the three-year BCA programme at SGIT School of Management. At the Institute, we adhere to the GGSIP University's course implementation norms and guidelines. The length of the BCA College Program is split into six semesters. Each semester consists of five theory subjects and three practical subjects.

ELIGIBILTY

Pass in English (core or elective or functional) and Mathematics or Computer Science / Informatics Practice / Computer Applications / Multimedia & Web Technology / Data Management Application / Web Application with a minimum of 50% in aggregate*. OR a three-year diploma in an engineering branch from a polytechnic that has been accredited by the All-India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated with a recognised reviewing body, with a minimum of 50% in aggregate.

RESERVATION OF SEATS AND SEAT INTAKE

This course is divided into two shifts, each with a 60-person intake. According to the current allocation scheme, 10% of seats are designated as "Management Quota Seats." 85 percent of the remaining 90 percent is set aside for Delhi voters, while 15 percent is set aside for candidates from other cities. Reservations for particular groups will be made in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSIONS

CET Conducted at a University:

Admissions are made solely on the basis of merit by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's Common Entrance Test (CET). Except for management quota seats, the IP University performs central counselling for all affiliated colleges for 90 percent of seats. During the counselling process, students must choose a college or institute. Students can refer to the University's advertising or visit its website at http://www.ggsipu.nic.in for application forms.

ADMISSION & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Pass a minimum of 50 percent of the marks in English (core, elective, or functional) and Mathematics or Computer Science/Informatics Practice/Computer Applications in CBSE class 10+2 or Intermediate or similar.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) must take the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Delhi's Common Entrance Test (CET) in the months of February and March each year. Students are accepted to the programme by Common Counselling Session based on their performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) in April and May.

A candidate eligible for admission to the 3-year BCA undergraduate degree course must be Passed in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* with pass in English (core or elective or functional). Mathematics or Computer Science / or any other subject related to Computer Science.

COLLEGE RATING

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
