The university is conducting Ph.D. interviews for eligible candidates who have either cleared the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) 2025–26 or are exempted from it as per university norms. The interviews are a mandatory step in the admission process to assess the candidates’ research aptitude and subject knowledge, and to finalize admissions into the Doctoral Research Program for the academic year 2025–26.
The notice contains detailed lists of shortlisted applicants from the following departments under USICT:
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
Information Technology (IT)
Computer Applications (CA)
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) – Note: No candidates were shortlisted for MAE.
Each candidate's details include:
Application Number
PET Roll Number
Name
Gender
Category (GEN, SC, ST, EWS, etc.)
Status of Exemption (whether exempted from PET or not)
All shortlisted candidates must bring a hard copy of their tentative research proposal.
The proposal should be prepared thoughtfully and must align with one of the research domains/specializations offered by the university.
A clear keyword or specialization area related to the proposal must be mentioned on the top of the first page.
Candidates should refer to Annexure-C of the Ph.D. Admission Brochure 2025–26 for information on available supervisors, their research interests, and guidance on selecting relevant research topics.
Candidates will be required to briefly present their research proposal before the interview panel.
The interview will also assess:
Understanding of research methodology
Clarity of the research problem
Relevance of the chosen topic to ongoing academic or industrial challenges
Feasibility and novelty of the proposal
Tentative Research Proposal (printed)
Photo ID Proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.)
Mark Sheets and Certificates (10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation)
Proof of Category (if applicable)
Exemption Certificate (e.g., NET/JRF/GATE qualification proof)
Application Form Copy and PET Admit Card
Any Other Relevant Academic or Professional Documents
Reporting on time is crucial. Late reporting may lead to disqualification from the interview process.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
The final decision regarding admission will be based on performance in the interview, availability of guides, and verification of documents.
The university reserves the right to amend or cancel the interview schedule if required.
