ABOUT THE COLLEGE

KCC Institute of Legal and Higher Education is a private college in Greater Noida established by the KCC group. The college is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and was established in the year 2009. It is in affiliation to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University which is approved by AICTE and Accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. This institute offers undergraduate course of 3 years in Business Administration, Journalism and Mass Education, Computer Application and Commerce.

The campus is spread across 40 acres of land with all the basic amenities and also offers an education loan facility to the students.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) is 3 years (6 semesters) undergraduate honours programme which is the most preferred course among the students who are always curious about the happenings going around them and wants to master the skills of writing and reporting through mass media platforms.

During the course the subjects covered by the students are Introduction to Communication, Socio-Economic and Political Scenario, Basics of Designs and Graphics, Print Journalism, Still Photography, Development and Communication, Radio Journalism and Production, Media Laws and Ethics etc. 

 

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The BA (JMC) course is divided into 3 years and further divided into 6 semesters. An academic calendar consists of 2 semesters (August-December & January-May) and each paper consists of five theory and one/two practical subjects of 100 marks.

The vision of this course is to transform ordinary aspirants into extraordinary aspirants and to inculcate a strong sense of commitment and ethics among the students by exposing them to the prevailing industry standards.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this course is to provide a harmonious mix of classroom learning with practical approach by adopting an innovative method such as case studies, seminars, quizzes, debates, regular industrial visits, live recording sessions, news anchoring, documentaries etc for adequate learning in the fast development Mass Media sector in India. It also aims to impart knowledge along with analytical proficiency and communication skills among the students.

The BJMC graduates are highly in demand in the country and has various job opportunities as a Reporter, Editor, Photojournalist, Journalist and Screenwriter in Publishing House, Broadcasting, Advertising Agencies, Press Information, Newspapers, E-Magazines etc.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A candidate eligible for admission to the 3-year BJMC undergraduate degree course must be Passed in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* and must also have passed English (core or elective or functional) as a subject.
  • The candidates must have qualified CUET.

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • The candidates must apply through CUET for the admission to any of the courses offered by KCCILHE (KCC Institute of Legal and Higher Education) College.
  • The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
  • The candidates who qualify CUET are only eligible for the admission in the college.

ABOUT THE PLACEMENT CELL

The objective of the placement cell of KCCILHE is to provide the best career opportunities by ensuring that the students get proper exposure through industrial visits, guest lectures, seminars, workshops and also training and internships in the leading brands of corporate world to augment the exposure of students for betterment of their learning. The placement cell also conducts special grooming sessions and mock interviews which helps in identifying the weak areas of the students.

After the CUET, all india rank is given to all candidates. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute . The appearance in CUET is mandatory to be eligible for management quota seats.
