Earlier, Computer Science was studied as a subject under mathematics department and electrical department. Recently, it was added as a different/ separate engineering department. It also got roots from linguistics.
A Computer Science and Engineering student studies topics about computation. It means, they learn how to analyze algorithms and programming languages. They learn about computer software and hardware. They learn about program designs.
The students of Computer Science and Engineering at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology gets facilitated with a department, holding 450 computers with i7 processors. In first year, students get through basic science and engineering concepts. We don’t want to over burden our fresher’s. First year is time to get familiarize with college culture and exploring the campus. Core subjects like introduction to Computer Science and Data Structure are taught in 2nd and 3rd year. Students get to know about multimedia technologies and its applications. They get to know about computer graphics and understand computer architecture. They get to learn about Operating Systems and Distributed Operating Systems. After understanding the basics and getting familiar with the course, students get through advanced courses in their final year. They get to know about compiler construction, mobile competing and embedded systems. They get to understand, learn and apply the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Network technology, its management and security are also subjects in final year, along with software engineering.

ELIGIBILITY

A candidate eligible for admission to the 4-year B. Tech degree course must have passed the Intermediate Examination (10+2) with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in aggregate.
A candidate must have passed English as a core/elective/functional subject in CBSE or any other equivalent examination.
A candidate should also appear in JEE to become eligible for the B. Tech course in the college.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The candidates must apply through IPU CET or JEE Entrance Exam for the admission to any of the courses offered by GTBIT
The candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria is then required to attend the counselling session for further screening process.
The candidates who qualify IPU CET or JEE Exam are only eligible for the admission in the college.

COLLEGE RATING

After the registration , all india rank is given to all candidates based on JEE mains score. The cut off for admission is decided as per counselling process. The cut off are different for Delhi Quota and non Delhi Quota students. Usually, cut off is higher ( means lesser competition) for Delhi region candidate vis a vis Outside Delhi candidates. For management quota seats, admissions are given on criteria set up by institute .
